Projects successfully Completed in the Past Years

This is awareness and action oriented programme conducted every year in 24 villages of Dindigul district under the presidenship, the local village headman. The local Ranger representing District Forest Department, will gave a talk on the importance of bio-diversity conservation and tree Plantation. Free saplings of fruit bearing trees and seeds will be given away doing the program.

Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) of Government of Tamilnadu and livelihood Supports for the adolescent women. The list of villages and number of women workers are under the care and support of THAI in the year 2018 are Poothipuram, Kurumbapatti, Maravapatti, Vadamadurai, Odanchatiram, Kanakkampatti. Balasamudram, 2019 are Innisaipuram, Ramayanpatti, Balasamudram, and Undarpatti The women in the abovementioned villages have gained vocational skills and have received financial assistance for their socioeconomic developments.

Thai trust along with its volunteers conduct Social research in the nearby villages every year to identify training needs. Various Formal & Non-formal education. , Vocational & skill training programs and Soft skills programs will be based on the social research outcome. 56 Women, Young Adult and Children have been benefited by the training.
The Managing Trustee and the board have decide to take some of these trainings to the next level to digitize and host on the Internet so that the continuity in educating people would not cease in any situation.

THAI Theatre Group’s activities are unique comparatively to other NGOs. The THAI Theatre Group consists of 12 artists who are well versed in conducting street theatre, awareness dramas, awareness songs, folk dance and issue based sensitization dialogue. The Theatre artists have conducted 9 shows and skits on the various issues in agricultural cultivation, farming methods, water and soil conservation, importance of education, health, hygiene, preventive health, environment, bio diversity, various socio economic development schemes of government, formation of self help groups, linkages with banks and micro enterprises.

The effluence discharged from the Tanneries has contaminated the water, land, air and other natural resources in villages of Dindigul Dt. Tamilnadu. The water is not potable and is saline and alkalinized. The famous native variety brinjal which was very tasty and earned high reputation in Tamilnadu and Kerala states, have lost its taste. Framers and livestock have got affected. A Rally was conducted in tannery affected areas so as to create awareness on the issue on 5th and 6th July 2019. A petition was submitted to District Collector seeking his immediate action against the environmental pollution Caused by the tanneries. THAI TRUST organized this two days programme with his staff and volunteers and also awarded prizes to participants.

Temple persists, daily wage workers, elderly, vulnerable children, frontline health and aid workers. Thai trust has reached around 1800 people over 2 years and helped disrupted the livelihoods of many by
supplying dry ration and essentials like toiletries, necessities of women and young girls, Basic Over the counter vitamin tablets and Ayurveda/ Siddha immunity medicines which were issued by the government.
This is now happening as Nithy Anna dhannam, catering around 30 to 40 people in Chokkikulam area. The Thai Trust will soon serve Rural areas on the Natham Road.

The Project

One of the main objectives of the Thai Trust is to preserve cultural heritage,  historical structures  and monuments to create awareness and knowledge about our prodigious roots. We strongly believe that Preserving our heritage structures is an imperative mission that connects us to our rich culture.

Our present projects are regeneration projects aiming at protection and restoration of  significant cultural heritage buildings. Also we are carrying out projects for safeguarding our Intangible wealth – The Scriptures. We are  supporting work in the form of protective measures, conservation and rebuilding the structures via Project Tvaṣṭā.
